TECHNICAL SKILLS
For participants who specifically want to learn TIG welding or further develop their practical TIG welding skills. The course is particularly suitable for those who want to weld stainless steel and aluminium. Participants with no previous welding experience are advised by Praxis to first follow the general welding techniques course.
Would you like to master TIG welding and learn how to produce high-quality welds? This hands-on training teaches you step by step how to work with the TIG welding process. The course mainly focuses on welding stainless steel and aluminium and gives you plenty of practical time to develop the required technique.
You will learn how to work safely and correctly with TIG welding equipment and gain an understanding of material behaviour, welded constructions and common welding defects. You will also learn how to correctly set up the welding equipment and practise different welding positions, including flat welding (PA), horizontal-vertical fillet welding (PB) and horizontal and vertical welding (PC). Practical exercises mainly focus on stainless steel and aluminium. In TIG welding, heat is generated by an arc between a non-consumable tungsten electrode and the workpiece. Filler wire is added manually to the weld pool. This process can produce very high-quality welds, but requires precision and practice.
