WORKING AT HEIGHT
For employees who use fixed scaffolding and/or assist with its erection, dismantling or alteration. The course combines the required knowledge for both fixed scaffold users and scaffold erectors.
Do you work on fixed scaffolding or assist with its erection, alteration or dismantling? This 1-day training course teaches you how to safely use a fixed scaffold and correctly erect it. You will learn how to identify hazards, inspect scaffolding and work safely at height.
During Module 1 – User, you will learn how to work safely on a fixed scaffold. The course covers responsibilities when using scaffolding, hazards and preventive measures, PPE and personal fall protection, different types of scaffolding, permissible loads and inspections before use. You will learn how to work with scaffold tags and conformity certificates, carry out a last-minute risk assessment and checklist, and assess ground conditions and stability. The course also covers the prevention of falling persons and objects and the effects of changing weather conditions such as wind, rain, cold and heat. During Module 2 – Erector, you will learn how to safely erect, alter and dismantle a fixed scaffold. You will learn to work according to erection instructions and assembly diagrams and gain an understanding of anchoring, stabilisation, bracing and structural stability. During the practical part of the course, you will immediately apply this knowledge by working with the scaffold yourself.
