For employees who act as a safety watch during work in confined spaces, particularly in industrial, petrochemical and port environments. The safety watch must be able to supervise safe entry and respond quickly and correctly in the event of an incident.
Do you act as a safety watch during work in confined spaces? This hands-on training teaches you how to supervise safe entry into a confined space and how to respond correctly in an emergency. You will learn not only how to raise the alarm effectively, but also how to initiate first-line emergency intervention.
You will learn how to identify the hazards and risks associated with confined spaces and apply the appropriate preventive measures before and during entry. You will learn how to check entry permits, register entrants and assess oxygen levels and concentrations of toxic or flammable substances. Practical exercises include the use of tripods, fall protection, safety harnesses, rescue winches and evacuation equipment. Communication, emergency alarm procedures, basic CPR, evacuation and first-line intervention are also covered.
