PREVENTION
For employees who have already been appointed as a confidential counsellor or who will take on this role within their organisation. Every newly appointed confidential counsellor must complete at least five days of training within two years of their appointment.
Would you like to take on the role of confidential counsellor within your organisation? This 5-day basic training provides the legal knowledge and practical skills required to support employees professionally, confidentially, neutrally and objectively when they experience psychosocial difficulties at work.
You will learn about the role, status and responsibilities of a confidential counsellor and gain insight into psychosocial risks such as stress, conflicts, aggression, bullying and unwanted sexual behaviour. A major part of the course focuses on interviewing techniques, active listening and supporting employees. You will also learn how to assess difficult situations, refer employees to the appropriate services and, where possible, assist with mediation and conflict management. The training has a strong practical focus using case studies and role-playing exercises.
