FIREFIGHTING
For employees who are part of their organisation’s fire response or first intervention team, or who perform a fire watch role. The training is intended for employees who need to be able to respond effectively to a fire and assist with the safe evacuation of people.
A quick and effective first response can prevent an incipient fire from developing into a serious emergency. During this hands-on training, you learn how to act preventively as a member of the fire response team, respond correctly in the event of a fire and safely assist with the evacuation of people from the workplace.
You will learn the key principles of fire prevention, risk assessment, fire development and fire classes. You will practise using different extinguishing equipment on realistic fire scenarios and learn how to deal with solid-material fires, liquid fires and electrical fires. The course also covers evacuation procedures, including protective equipment, orientation in reduced visibility, lifting and carrying techniques, communication, role allocation and the practical implementation of an evacuation plan.
