Are you involved in the design, purchase, modification or commissioning of machinery? This course provides a clear understanding of the legal framework of the European Machinery Directive and teaches you how to apply its requirements in practice within your organisation. You will also learn what the new European Machinery Regulation means and how to prepare for the transition to the new legislation.
You will learn the basic principles of the Machinery Directive and gain an understanding of economic and social directives and the relationship between the Machinery Directive and the Work Equipment Directive. You will learn which legal requirements apply to machinery and how to translate these requirements into practical measures. The course covers CE marking, preparing a technical construction file and applying the legislation to assemblies of machinery. UKCA marking for the United Kingdom and the new European Machinery Regulation are also covered. You will also learn how to perform a risk assessment according to ISO 12100:2010 and how to apply essential health and safety requirements in combination with relevant harmonised standards. New challenges associated with Industry 4.0 are also discussed.
